New York City has a thousand and one different captivating faces, and almost as many descriptions: the Big Apple, the City that Never Sleeps, the most visited city in the States… Electric, fascinating, intoxicating even, the city cries out for superlatives. SoHo, Chinatown, TriBeCa, NoLiTa… Its different neighbourhoods feed off all the influences of its multitude of ethnicities, creating a fantastic cultural melting pot.
NYC is a great city to visit all year around, however the best time to visit the Big Apple is generally from April to October, when the temperatures are warmer with a minimum of 10° Celsius. In January and February, expect temperatures below 0° Celsius, including an average -3°C during these months. The most rainy months tend to be from May to July.

According to the New York Taxi and Limousine Commission there are approximately 13.500 yellow cabs and more than 14.000 registered Uber cars. You can hail them in the street, find them at taxi ranks or book one through a NYC taxi operator. The initial charge is $2,50 and each additional 1/5 mile is $0,50. Some additional charges may apply. A tip of 10% - 15% is not included and passengers must also pay bridge and tunnel tolls as relevant. Credit and debit cards are usually accepted, with an additional fee applied. Keep in mind that it can be difficult to find a taxi in NYC between 4pm and 5pm when drivers change shift.
