The Royal Palace
Situated in front of a park with a layout inspired by masonic symbols, the Royal Palace is not the residence of the King of the Belgians (situated at Laeken), but if the black, yellow and red flag is flying in front of the Palace it means that the sovereign is in Belgium. There is an interesting museum explaining the history and traditions relating to the monarchy located in the annexe to the building which was previously given over to important guests. Make sure to also discover the former residence of, first, the Dukes of Brabant (11th C.) and then the Dukes of Burgundy (15th C.).
