Qasr Al Hosn
In the beginning, in the 18th century, Qasr Al Hosn comprised of just a stone watchtower and shimmering coral. It was gradually transformed into a fort, then a decadent palace inhabited by the Al Nahyan family at the beginning of the oil boom. This symbol of the Emirate, one of the oldest buildings in Abu Dhabi, is currently undergoing renovation work for its latest incarnation. Qasr Al Hosn is destined to become a huge museum and home to the Emirate’s archives. For now, it houses a fascinating exhibition dedicated to the transformation of Abu Dhabi through audio witness accounts and old photographs.
