Niterói Contemporary Art Museum
Jutting out over the sea, the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum is a stunning building shaped like a 16 metres tall UFO, a futuristic feat designed by the famous Brazilian architect, Oscar Niemeyer. With its oblong shape, it is one of the symbols of the city of Cariocas and is known all around the world. Walk up the long hanging ramp to the exhibition hall to explore works by Lygia Clark, Artur Barrio, Franz Weissmann and Jorge Duarte, collected since the 1950s by João Sattamini, a fan of Brazilian contemporary art. Enjoy the stunning views from the Niterói over Guanabara Bay and Sugarloaf Mountain from its panoramic gallery.
