Art & Design Marrakech, Morocco
Built around an amazing open-air patio, in the style of peristyle houses, a 19th-century palace was converted into the Marrakech Museum on the instigation of a patron and collector from Fes, Omar Benjelloun. Explore the impressive collections of ceramics from Safi, Fes and Tafilalet, traditional jewellery, sabres, engravings, Moroccan furniture, calligraphy and contemporary art. The douiria, once a guesthouse for passing visitors, now exhibits works by R’Bati, Cherkaoui, Gharbaoui and Binebine. Concerts, screenings and workshops are regularly hosted in this cultural hub, particularly in its Café. Take the time to enjoy a mint tea served with makroudh.
