Art & Design Marrakech, Morocco
A haven of green and blue in the heart of the Red City, the Jardin Majorelle palm grove was bought in 1922 by Jacques Majorelle, to whom it owes its name. The French painter had an Art Deco villa built here, inspired by Le Corbusier, then created an intense sea of cobalt blue to magnify this oasis. Abandoned after his death, the botanic garden and house and workshop were bought by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé in 1980. Come and admire the bamboo forest, rare plants and the Berber museum, where you can browse the private collection of Yves Saint-Laurent's haute couture fashion.
